Copper coloured seam sealing
We pride ourselves on creating practical garments, many of which are waterproof; however, once a needle has passed through fabric (for example, to join pattern pieces at the seams) it cannot be fully waterproof. For this reason, in many of our garments; particularly those that are crafted from Ventile®; we seal all the seams with our signature copper coloured tape. This closes any stitch holes and ensures a fully sealed, water and wind proof garment that will keep you warm and dry.
Durable, soft and warm, corduroy refers to the structure of the fabric in question; often cotton. Usually a heavyweight yet breathable fabric, our corduroy is super soft and hard wearing. Kasia to confirm.

A crepe sole refers to a sole crafted from a rubber-like material, which offers flexibility, comfort and a slight bounce to absorb impact and ensure ultimate comfort and fit. Flannel is similar to brushed cotton in that the finished garment is brushed to create a super soft handle. In comparison, flannel is not exclusively cotton and refers more to the type of weave.

Thought to originate from workers in the 1900s, the grandad collar is simple a casual shirt style with little to no collar structure; simply a button at the throat. History dictates that factory workers did not wear a tie for fear of catching it in the machinery, therefore rendering the collar unnecessary. Fast forward to the 1950s and this style became a casual staple in every gentlemans wardrobe. Worn today in an effortlessly casual manner, our light and breezy Grandad shirts are a bestseller.
The Grenson brand was established in 1866 after founder, William Green learned the trade from his mother, making shoes from their home in Northamptonshire. X Grenson collaborative styles have been entirely handmade in Britain at the Grenson factory that still stands in Northamptonshire today, whilst each exclusive pair features handwritten detailing in the lining, meaning you know you are receiving a truly personal and hand finished pair, every time.

We have added the Ripstop technique to an array of styles, most notably to our Ventile® Mac 2.0 and Harrington 2.0, combining waterproofing Ventile®, wind proof copper sealing and reinforced Ripstop properties, crafting some of our most durable and hard-wearing products.
