DESCRIPTION

Inspired by the G-1 flight jackets of the Second World War, the Flight Jacket has been expertly handcrafted using the finest UK woven doeskin* wool.

*Doeskin is a medium-weight wool fabric with a short nap and tight weave. It is softer than the more commonly used Melton, but it is still very hardwearing due to its compact weave and construction

  • Water resistant 100% merino wool outer cloth (woven from our local friends at Mallalieus of Delph)
  • Tubular quilted wool wadding for optimal insulation
  • Real shearling collar
  • Two-way copper zip centre front fastening
  • Ribbed cuff and hem
  • Military grade copper hardware from RIRI of Switzerland
  • Action back sleeve for ease of movement and comfort
  • Reinforced elbow patches
  • Two internal zip-secure oversized tablet pockets
  • Two external stud secure patch pockets with side entry
  • Etched copper rivets on the back neck and hanger loop
  • Made in our own factory in Manchester

A Fair Price to Pay The old adage 'you get what you pay for' rarely rings true in the world of clothing. It does at Private White V.C. where we’ve been cutting our cloth and creating garments for over 100 years. We make outerwear we consider superior to anything produced in any other factory in the world. Our pricing is fair - not cheap, but certainly not overpriced. And we want you to know what you pay for, so we outline exactly where your money goes when you invest in your Private White V.C. clothing. But we can’t put a price on expertise and experience, on the learning that has been passed down through generations. That’s the gold dust we sprinkle on each garment that leaves our factory. You will recognise it when you wear your Private White V.C. coat for the very first time. You’ll walk a little taller, with pride and satisfaction. It’s a good feeling. Priceless.
